Hamilton Swift & Associates (formerly Hamilton Swift LUDC) was founded in 1986, by one of the firm’s Principals, John Swift. Our firm has over 70 years of combined experience in the land use and environmental planning fields. This professional experience includes extensive work in both private and public sector land use planning and combines an in-depth knowledge of local/regional issues with a broad background and expertise which includes Land Use, Environmental Planning, Permit Processing and Real Estate/Development.

Our ability to find common ground, and to develop strategic and practical solutions to land use and real estate development problems that protect the environment, while facilitating sustainable development that complements the existing urban fabric, is one of the firm’s greatest assets.

Our firm’s success is largely based on the ability to establish and maintain a strong professional and personal rapport with clients as well as various staff members of the governmental jurisdictions. The facilitation of communication between all participants in a project including the project proponent, project team members, governmental staff, decision makers, and concerned citizens is seen as the highest priority for successful project management. Preparation of documents which are in a logical format and which are written in language understood by laymen and experts alike is of utmost importance.
